Iron Bridge
It is one of the most emblematic monuments of the town. It was born out of the need to build a bridge that would make it possible to cross the Segura river more comfortably, without depending on a boat and a dock that were often out of service due to the river’s flooding, favouring commerce and the transit of people.
and a wharf that were often out of service due to the river flooding, favouring commerce and the transit of people.
Its origin dates back to 1862, although it was not completed until 1943 due to a series of misfortunes: first a catastrophe in its mounting and placement, followed by the Civil War, events that would delay its inauguration until 19 November 1943.
